Membership has it's privileges... Besides the obvious benefit of having no debt, being a member of the Zero Debt Club definitely has it's perks.
How to Get into the Zero Debt Club1 Get on a budget - The first step to having zero debt is to make sure you aren't spending more money than you earn. Personally, I think the best way to do that is with a budget, it's free, easy to implement and will have an immediate impact in turning around your finances. 2 Don't create more debt - Cutting up your credit cards is one surefire way to prevent you from incurring more debt. Alternatively, you can do something a little less drastic like freezing your credit cards - literally. Options such as buy now - pay later may seem like a convenient way to get what you want right now when infact they're just money traps that can really set you back financially. 4 Attack your debt - Getting out of debt requires an aggressive, wage-war-against-debt kind of approach. However, to truly conquer your debt you need a plan of attack. Personally, I think the best plan is the debt snowball method of paying down debt, made famous by Dave Ramsey's baby steps. The way the debt snowball works is like this:
Welcome to the Zero Debt Club! If you have paid off your credit cards, loans and retail store cards congratulations! You can officially call yourself a member of the zero debt club. Give yourself a pat on the back, you have reason to be proud. If you're the type of person who's willing to accept having car and mortgage payments for the rest of your life that's okay - consider your work done. However, if you're the type who refuses to let things like car payments or a mortgage get in the way of wealth building - then you're not quite done yet. More Zero Debt related articles
